SUBJECT: Addendum to Conversation with the Deputy
Secretary of Defense, 27 September 1979 (U)
1. Secretary Brown has agreed reluctantly to our not moving
into the Pentagon. Go ahead and cancel the funding.
2. a. I am to provide him with a memorandum describing
what we will do in terms of substitute presence in the
-Pentagon--my proposal to send NITOs over from time to time
to spend a day or two in the Pentagon using my temporary
office there and rehearsing the kind of turnover. I want
a proposal made that is very concrete as to how often, how
long they'll stay, how many people.
b. The same memo should also request that we be assigned
the space in the NMIC.
