SUBJECT : Presidential Briefing Items
1. Attached are revised packages on the two items to be presented
on 26 September 1978. 1 realize the extent of revision is not up to
your expectations, however, this should be corrected by tomorrow.
2. The Cuban Foreign Policy briefing is undergoing further revision.
A vertical black line in the border indicates those portions where the
more significant changes have been made. A new section on Soviet Military
Support (pg. 4) has been added. The Style section was rewritten (pg.
10) and a Future Trends section was added (pg. 25).
A. Your suggested editorial changes are still in process
and a final draft should be available by tomorrow.
B. Additional backup material covering countries observing
the trade embargo, foreign exchange balances and foreign
aid to Cuba are to be available tomorrow.
3. Page 2 of the Western Sahara briefing has been rewritten to
include the coming meeting between King Hassan and Algerian President
Boumediene.
