Approved For Release 2000/09/01 : CIA-RDP81 B0087 e2 PO -5 Copy Of Tee: WRSP-Z Cornmo From. 25X1 A Into Headquarters Refs WRSP-Z System Four Field Report dated 7 April 1958 The receiver jumper plugs with the three indicator lights will probably not be redesigned. Two screws drilled for safety wire and properly arranged on the receiver front panel will permit the use of safety v&AM secure the plug.. from Hycon was here as a consultant and recommended that we ship a modified film magazine to you based upon a design utilizing parts from an Eastman magazine . The design was made by R-W personnel, but the plant had hesitated to send it to the field because of the flimsy construction. As an interim measure we agreed to supply this as a "throw away" item until the 800-.foot magazine becomes available.` The modified magazine is being assembled for shipment. have not experienced any trouble due to stretching of the recorder drive belt. Perhaps you are adjusting the belt and maintaining too much tension initially.. The recommended method is to tighten the belt just to the point of removing the sag in the belt loop. Over a temperature rang re of -550 C. to + 250 C. , the peak inverse voltage rating of the 11591 diode is 1500 volts. At, + 1000 C. this Berates to 1250 volts. At 1500 C. the value derates to 1000 volts. Although this should be an adequate margin of safety, the modification you described is good engineering practice and certainly increases the safety factor. The .650 volts and -1610 volts in the System 4 power apply are now being monitored by means of a voltage divider. A field modification kit will be sent, If you need additional platen springs for the film magazine, please order them from the depot. We have been using them for many test runs without replacement, with good success, and have had no trouble. The film magazine is held in place by two screws, but there are two ball: and detent alignment devices that will properly position the magazine. One is located on. the aide of the magazine and the other is located on the end of the magazine. CLASS, U -- 1A
