CMCC Doe. No. 151X5.781 r ',y 9 of 3 DP81 BO4878fi 1Ob200050055-0 WRSP(3) 21 October 1957 Headquarters .. Subject:, Reply to Reports on System 3 dated 22 August 1957, 29 August 1957, and 5 September 1957. P Thank you for the information supplied in report dated 5 September 1957. With regard to item 2 of the same report, a filter of 1000 t 50 cps is used in the analyzing equipment to extract the time note. This filter has a sharp fall-off on each edge of the pasaband giving an adequate 0 for the intended purpose. Concerning report dated 29 August 1957, parties responsible and/or interested have been informed of your various items. The temperatures mentioned in item 5 agree nominally with those observed here. In answer to report dated Z2 August 1957, your conclusion in item 3 is probably correct. You will find that the audio is low in amplitude and is difficult to hear with headphones above the ambient noise of the aircraft. However, if you disconnect the low impedance recorder, you should be able to hear the modulation if you are locked on to a station. If you lock on to CW signals, you naturally get no modulation. In item 4, your oscillator is very good to find if you can lock on, but this doesn't ascertain that the receiver is locking on at the right frequency. Use the SLOE grid dip meter 4Boonton} which has an oscillator in it with fair frequency stability, and this can be read to some degree of accuracy. In item 5, Production has found this to be a rather common occurrence. Reference item 8. We can no longer ship parts direct to you. You have three ways of obtaining parts not available in the FAX: 1 . Have base supply get them for you. Z. Have Supply request that the depot buy them from us on a purchase request. 3. Have the depot request a change in the FAK provision contract to supply more or additional parts not now included on the list. The other items of the report are noted, and the interested parties have been informed. 25X1 A SR W:hep IA 4 Approved F or Releas Approved For Release f' c;r- my CE_ASS. ^ B00878 R000200050055-0
