It has been brought to our attention by Doug that you do
not have a record of the Overhead and General and Administrative
Expense rates finally approved by the Resident Air Force Contracting
Officer for the year 1956 and applicable to the contracts for which
you are responsible.
I am enclosing a copy of our "Analysis of Burden Rates"
for the Years 1954, 1955 and 1956. The supporting cost data and the
appropriate approval letters from the Air Force Contracting Officer
from which these rates were determined is fairly voluminous, and is
not in a form which enables ready identification of the rates. As
we discussed during your recent visit, we believe it would be more
practical to have your local auditor review the documents supporting
these rates and give you a report, rather than forward a great deal
of information to you.
Based on your indicated approval of this course of action,
we request that you advise us in writing as soon as you concur with
the'rates developed. We will withhold submitting further vouchers
adjusting 1956 Overhead and General and Administrative Expense until
we receive your approval letter.
