General During the period covered by this progress letter: (1) All environmental, system, and flight tests were successfully concluded on Serial No. 105. (2) All unit environmental tests were concluded on Serial No. 106, and system environmental tests were scheduled. (3) Unit environmental test on Serial No. 107 was nearly completed. (4) Construction and subassembly test on the reworked Serial No. 102 was advanced. 2. Serial No. 105 During this period, system environmental tests and flight tests were performed on Serial No. 105. A detailed report on the results of the system environmental tests is now in preparation. A total of three flight tests were successfully conducted. 3. Serial No. 106 All unit environmental tests for Serial No. 106 have been successfully concluded. It is awaiting system environmental test, which is tentatively scheduled for mid- November 1958. 4. Serial No. 107 The majority of the unit environmental tests on Serial No. 107 are completed. At the present rate of progress, Serial No. 107 will be available for system environmental tests about the time Serial No. 106 is undergoing such tests. The terminal phase of the System 4 production is being subjected to a pile=up in the test program. Planning During the forthcoming period it is expected that: (i) System environmental test on Serial No. 106 will be completed and flight testing initiated. (2) System environmental test on Serial No. 107 will be done consecutively with Serial No. 106 and will be completed. (3) Construction will be completed and unit environmental test will be under way for Serial No. 10 2.
