P-2 PLATFORM HIGH-PRESSURE BLEED PANEL-GROUND HAVDIMID
NATURE OF PROPOSAL:
1. Design and develop a ground handling panel assembly with bleed valves to be
connected by high pressure hose to the existing bleed ports on the P2 platform
ban rack selector valves. Panel to be designed for use with the Platform
mounted either in the aircraft or on the G.H. cart.
2. Construct and test one prototype panel aesem. Unit to be tested at L.A.F.B.
.3. No ser*rioe bulletin required. Bleed Panelassembliee to be ordered by Depot
purchase requests.
REASON FOR PROPOSAL
To provide a ground handling panel assembly with bleed valves for eliminating high
pressure surges during "sequencing# checkout of the P-2 Platform high pressure
system. Adiabatic temperature rise due to high pressure surges has in some
instances ignited oil vapors.in the system resulting in -a hasar oU8 condition and
damage to the. gages and switches.
