To ensure that there is no further confusion regarding System
IV test sets, we propose to number them as follows:

After receipt of your letter No. 25231 dated March 10, 1958,
problem in a telephone conversation on March 21, 1958. The en-
suing agreement, believed to be most economical and appropriate for
the project is described in the following steps:

1. Leave the interim test set in the field rather than
return it for rework and refurbishing. Ship the
programmer portion from test set No. 100 to supple-
ment and complete the interim test set.
2. Replacements for the signal generators and related
equipment from the interim set, reported to need

Depot for forwarding overseas. Upon receipt of
these replacements, the overseas group will return

from the receiver test set portion of set No. 100
will be shipped to Customer A`s. Depot for forwarding
to Headquarters, attention of Jim S. The remaining
items from test set No. 100 are to be delivered to
the Depot for storage.
4. Deliver test sets No. 101. and 102 to FOG as soon as
they are completed.

In our letter CMCC Doc. No. 151x5. 964 we mentioned that we
would be submitting a proposal to cover the estimated costs of the
interim test set and a modification kit consisting of the programmer
section of the production test set. Approval of the above steps would
mean that a modification kit would no longer be necessary.
The estimated cost for the interim test set without the modifi-
cation kit is shown as Exhibit A. The estimated cost is
The fee at making a total estimated cost including
fee of A. complete reconciliation of the funding relating to
the test set is shown in Exhibit B. Any surplus funding would, of
course, be available for use elsewhere in the project.
Your approval of the cost estimate and recommended steps is
requested.
