SUBJECT: Vacuum Tubes Required for Project AZAROLE, Contract No. A-101
Ramo Wooldridge Corporation
1. Pursuant to a request by phone from of Ramo-
Wooldridge for our assistance in expediting delivery of certain radio-
t e tubes I contacted Chief of Logistics, for assistance.

25X1A
eferred me to with whom the problem 25X1 A
was resolved satisfactorily.
2. requires same 1250 CK-61-12 tubes and some 1800 CK-61-52
for delivery beginning 15 September through 15 November 1955? Deliveries
quoted by Raytheon, sole producer of the CK-61-52, indicated that
deliveries would be delayed four to five months.
3. Accordingly, through personal contacts with - known to 25X1A
arrangements were made for an overt order of tubes to be
delivered to from where the tubes will be transshipped by us
to R -W. The first order of 500 CK-61-12 tubes will be by purchase order
25X1A for delivery about 1 September 1955. Subsequently, a contract will be
written between Logistics and Mlp~ for the balance of the order. The
tubes will be paid for our of project funds and furnhhed CTFE to R-W.
25X1A
4. was contacted and the arrangement explained to him.
He was instructed, as a security measure, not to cancel his order at the
present time but to request that it be held in abeyance pending his
investigation as to whether or not the equipment could be redesigned to
low take other tubes or to offer any other logical excuse. Subsequently
25X14 he will cancel his order after deliveries have been made under our contract.
Also the quantities and delivery schedules under our contract with
will be altered so that no direct correlation is present between the two
orders.
5. Comparative delivery schedules follow. It will be noted that the
totals under our order are slightly larger inasmuch as stated 25X1A
he could use approximately 10% greater quantities as spares, etc. These
were therefore added to cut down on correlation possibilities between our
order and R-W's order. Also the additional quantities have been added as a
December delivery.
