Emergency landing at a military base. b. Emergency landing at a civilian base. c. Landing in an unprepared field, d. Bailout. 2. aieral nstructions: Best judgment must be used in any emergency situation. Listed below are instructions which must be considered in an emergency situation. The pilot will: as Maintain project and aircraft/equipment security. b. Attempt to place this incident in the hands of the following authorities, in order of preference: (1) Military base commander, (2) Airport manager (if landing is at civil airport).. (3) Law enforcement officer. c. Advise the proper officials of the incident. do Obtain names and addresses of all people who see the aircraft and/or give assistance. el Record expenses and obligations incurred. f. Retain possession of flying suit. g. Refer press inquiries to the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, D.C. Detailed Instructions: Certain specific actions are require or eac emergency listed in paragraph 1. above. a, Landing at-a Military Base: ,(1) Give the appropriate letter to the Base Commander and request that the aircraft be placed under guard in a hangar or under cover in a secluded part of the base, (2) Execute instructions contained in "Telephone instructions" paragraph noted below. b. Landing at a Civil Airport: (1) Make security of the aircraft the prime consideration. Immediate steps must be taken to utilize the facilities available. (2) Contact the airport manager and impress on him the classified nature of the aircraft and equipment. He will be repaid for services rendered by the U o 3 , Air Force. (3) Execute. instructions contained in "Telephone Instructions" paragraph noted below. c. Landing on an Unprepared Field: (1) Attempt to remain with the aircraft until someone arrives. (2) Request the assistance of the nearest law enforcement officer. If necessary, hire someone to guard the aircraft. (3) Request the law enforcement officer to take charge of the aircraft until official military help arrives. (4) Execute instructions contained in "telephone instructions" paragraph noted below. d. Bailout: (1). Proceed by beet means available to a telephone or law enforcement officer. Telephone Instructions: In any situation requiring unscheduled landing or bailout telephone and advise the Air Force Duty Officer at Telephone numbers are: a, Your location. bo Location of aircraft. c, Nature of the trouble, do Security of the aircraft. e o Assistance needed o f.
