SUBJECT : Conversation with DDCI on 1 June 1961

1. I introduced to General Cabell in the latter's
office on 1 June 1961, since the General had expressed an interest in meeting
him before the details of relationship to had slipped into
history.
2. The interview with - was, I think, a very good one and covered
especially role in the -Project and his relationship to IIPD.
General Cabell asked - if he would commit some of his recommendations
regarding the conduct of this type of operation to paper, and he asked
to consider carefully which element of the Agency should be the repository of
a report such as this. Emphasis here was primarily on things we should have
learned which may apply for the future in the construction of an emergenc sir
brief report containing recommendations of the sort suggested by the DDCI,
and that this should ultimately reside in Materiel Staff, DPD, rather than
Real Estate and Construction Division of the Office of Lo

who is technically not a member of DPD, I suggested to the latter that he
25X1A automatically furnish a copy of it to Mr. Special Assistant tc
the DDC to enable General Cabell to know that the circuit was closed. This
