Approved For Release 2002/09/04: CIA-RDP81 800961 R000100140241-4 OSA-44 12-.63 13 August 1963 1rEMCRAHDUH FOR: Assistant Director, OSA SUBJECT . Article in 12 August 1963 Issue of The Wall Street Journal 1. Attached is a copy of an article appearing in the 12 August 1963 issue of The Wall Street Journal. The only prrtion of interest is that outlined in red. It is the +pinion of S S/OSA th , at this artil i ces not compromising, since it merely speculates about four types of aircraft which Air Force planners feel are required for defensive warfare, but which are futuristic concepts at this point. The paragraph outlined in red does, in fact, describe to some extent the R-12. However, it could just as easily be interpreted as a reference to the RX, which is openly being considered as a future development by the Defense Department, and for which requests for proposal have been submitted to several aircraft manufacturers. In essence, it merely describes an aircraft that many people have been recommending ostensibly without success, for several years. 25X1A Attachment As stated Security Staff OSA Distribution: 25X A l - SS/CSA I - RB/OSA anw/SS/ A 10 / I Approved For Release 200,2109/04: CIA-RDP81 800961 R000100140241-4
