STAT 1. During this morning's meeting?you.asked me to
provide my best understanding of the subject areas which will
be covered during the 20 April 1978 open hearing of the
Subcommittee on Oversight, chaired by Representative Les Aspin
(D., Wis.). The subparagraphs which follow contain my under-
standings:..

the Director's-regulation on CIA's dealing with media

Comment: We have been promised,
by 14 April, Chairman spin's recommended changes in the
(c) Thomas K. Latimer, Staff Director, House Permanent
Select Committee on Intelligence, told me some weeks ago
that it was quite possible that the subject of Stations'
relationships with Ambassadors might come up during the
session which had originally been planned for 15 March.
(Comment: I will find out whether this subject is likely
to receive coverage or not. Hopefully, not.)
2. (IUO) Loch Johnson has promised me that he would provide
me with as many specific questions as possible prior to the
hearing. I intend to pursue this and will make every effort to
ensure that we are not caught off-guard by unexpected or
