SUBJECT Sanitization and Declassification of Portions
of the 1967 IG Report. and of the 1977 Task
Force Report
1. On Friday, after receipt of a request from HSCA
for to testify in the public hearings
this week spoke wit Mr. Carlucci about it. We had
protected from public identification previously,
although he had testified at length in executive session
before the Church Committee; his name had been ommitted
from the Church Committee reports, although his work and
title are there. Upon the DDCI's instructions I spoke with
Mr. Blakey, asking if it could be arranged in some way to
avoid public appearance. We discussed it
again a u ay, w ic.h time he agreed for
to testify on tape (to be played at the hearings) wi ou
giving his name. This was set up for Monday afternoon,
with being present.
0GC provided a notary public to give the oath.
2. In preparation for this testimony, we also had a
request for sanitization of additional pages from the 1967
IG Report and from the 1977 Task Force report. Under the
procedure employed for earlier sanitization and declassifi-
cation of the 1967 IG Report, of LA Division,
DDO, and the undersigned, reviewed the pages, sanitized
them for declassification, and the undersigned declassified
them. They were passed to the HSCA.
3. Attached are the pages in question prior to saniti-
zation (Tab A) and the final sanitized and declassified
pages (Tab B)
