Approved For Release 2QQA~.i Q128# CIA-RDP81J\1i,QO980R0W300r040042-9 :,~k 71d 20 September 1978 MEMORANDUM FOR TIIE RECORD 1. The HSCA bas houn n allegations that a man using the namel in Dallas, Texas was in touch with certain anti-Castro Cubans in Dallas, Texas. Newspaper sources on the subject indenti- fied him as a CIA employee. Agency records disclosed that there was never a CIA employee whose true name, or pseudonym, was either of the variations noted above. Nor did any Agency employee ever have a registered alias in that name. It is the Agency's opinion that there was never a CIA employee who used that name in Dallas, Texas. 2. As a matter of interest, one of the alleged I Iconnections was with an anti-Castro group that received support from the US Army. If there was ever a person using such a name he would more likely be a person involved in that way than being from CIA. 3. The IISCA now has testimony b the former DCI. Mr. John A. McCone, and in which 7t hey recall an Agency employee y i name. That testimony, of course, could be used to attack the Agency's credibility in its response to the HSCA on this subject. 4. We are convinced there was no such employee and I have asked the Office of Personnel and the Office of Security to collect for me information on all A ency employees during the 1960s whose last name was I intend to compile a portfolio of photographs for the two gentlemen in question to review to see if they can identify any of those persons.
