I Messrs. Glennon and Ritch visited Headquarters on 4 August 1978 for a series of briefings related to requests for information made by the Subcommittee on International Operations in connection with its investigation into foreign intelligence activities in the U.S. The undersigned was present during the briefings along with Don Gregg and Deputy Legislative Counsel was present at the heginning of the session. 25X1 2. The initial briefing was given by I Latin America 1 Divi ion DDU This briefing concerned 1 I Ian organization for cooperation amon several South 25X1 American security services. 0 emphasized that Thad no known representatives in the U.S.; that it had taken no known action in the U.S.; and that it currently appeared to be in a somewhat moribund 25X1 state . 0 A III 25X1 3. 0 The next briefing was on the Yugoslav intelligence services 125X1 and was presented by of the DDO, who was introduced by first name only. 25X1 4. This briefing was presented 25X1 by I. Middle East Division/DDO, who were introduced by first name only. It was noted that information that came to our attention years after the assassination indicated that Fatah/ Black September was "probably" responsible for the murder, and that a two man hit team had entered the U.S. specifically to carry it out and had left immediately afterwards. 25 25 25 25 25
