S.2525 - Proposed Intelligence Charter
Legislation - Title IV, 'CIA - Revision
Attached is a revised version of Title IV, the proposed
CIA charter of S.2525 which is the result of our comments
and discussions with the staff of Lhe Senate Select Com-
mittee on Intelligence and is in many respects a substantial
improvement over the provisions of the bill as introduced.
This revision, when finalized, wilt form the basis for a
reintroduction of the charter legislation package in the
next Congress. Would you please request that responsible
officials within '"each of your jurisdictions review this
revision and furnish their comments to me on or before 16
August in order that areas of continuing concern may be,
discussed further with the SSCI staff.
