Thank you for your letter of 21 April, which referred to the recent Se=vite
approval of S. 1566 and noted with appreciation the contributions of Tony
Lapham and I have shared your comments with these
gentlemen, and they join me in expressing thanks for your letter.
I agree as to the importance of this legislation, andd am especially grati-
fied that our staffs were able to work so well and so closely together. I sue
that as a good omen as we now approach the intelligence agency charter
questions.
