indicate e had meant to be in touch with Mr. Carlucci to
follow up their conversation of August of this year regardiz~a
.State and CIA reporting'an the internal situation in certain
countries abroad. ~Iillex still would like to meet with
Ivlr. Carlucci, but gave me the following information on the
Committee's plans and progress regarding this study which
resulted from a rec{uest from Dr. Brzezinski, Assistant to
the President for National Security Affairs, that the CommitteE
look into this area.
2. ~ Miller indicated the Committee would handle this
on a very c{uzet, low-key basis. Miller himself will conduct
the study, with assistance of one ar two staff members. Iiis
