12. (Unclassified - TIIW) LIAISON I called Dorothy Fosdick,
on the staff of the Senate Governmental Affairs Permanent Subcommittee
on Investigations, late in the day to say we had not received clearance fo--
Senator Henry M. Jackson's (D. , Wash.) earlier request but that we woul
be working over the weekend to attempt to resolve the matter. She asked
that I call her at home over the weekend if we had a resolution to the
problem.

13. (Internal Use Only - PLC) LIAISON John Tipton, General
Accounting Office, met with O/SA/DO/O, and
their investigation of alleged Nazi war criminals. Neither had any
objections to the draft. I reviewed it later and it presented no problems.
The notes will be returned to the Agency sometime early next week.
OGC, and reviewed a draft of GAO's letter to the Agency
returning GAO's notes of their review of CIA documents related to

Danny Coulson, at the FBI, who was interested in the Civil Service Refer !n
legislation. He said the FBI was engaged in conversation with the Senat:
Governmental Affairs Committee in an effort to obtain. exemptions for
the Bureau..
14. (Unclassified - RLB) LEGISLATION Received a call from
Mr. James Allen, OGCI who said he would be attending the rn etin g,
Monday, 12 June, at OM o discuss the Department of State Authorization
Legislation, in lieu of Mr. Ray Konan. We discussed generally our vie< 3
on the "Science and Techonology Amendment" in the legislation; Mr. All _ n
said the Department was strongly opposed to the provision and would seelk
to have major changes made to it.
15. (Unclassified - RLB) LEGISLATION Received a call from
Bob Carlstrom, OMB, who said OMB was preparing a reauthorization 1~ .3
for the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA). He said ]I,-
would like our opinion as to whether we had any objection to including in -11*.-
authorization bill the provision appearing in the original LEAA enablinf.
