MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Telephone Conversation with Senator Nunn,
28 November 1978
1. Senator Nunn called me regarding a meeting he is having
with Senators Byrd, Tower, Hart and himself and
next week on Korea. He's heard about our
new evaluation of the order of battle and our reluctance to brief
it at this time. I explained that to him and he understood it
fully. What he wants, however, is not to go to Korea without
having the best information we are able to give him at that time.
He particularly doesn't want to be caught short when talking with
General Vessey. tie agreed that I would update him on this when I
crossed paths with him on about the 5th of January.
2. I took responsibility for ensuring that I or, if for some
reason I don't make it, someone else makes contact with him in
25X1 to give him the best we can at that time. I'd like to task
25X1 to keep me up to date on this.
