Approved For Release 2006/11/27: CIA-RDP81M00980R001800020034-4 INTERNAL USE ONLY JOURNAL Friday - 24 February 1978 V 1. (Unclassified - NDL) LIAISON Received a call from Ann Proctor, Staff Assistant to Senator Thomas F. Eagleton (D., Mo. ), who requested a current issue of the "National Basic Intelligence Factbook. " After checking with CSS/NFAC, I phoned Ms. Proctor back and told her one would be forthcoming as soon as we received them from the printers. She said this would be fine. 2. (Unclassified - NDL) LIAISON Received a call from Suzanne Boisclair, in the Office of Technical Assessment, who requested a copy of the Agency publication entitled "The Impact of Fertilizer on Soviet Grain Output From 1960-1980. " After checking with CSS/NFAC, I told Ms. Boisclair a copy would be forthcoming. 3. (Unclassified - MG) LIAISON Received a call from Donna, in the office of Representative Morgan F. Murphy (D., Ill.), who wanted to know if the cuts in the DDO, which she read in the press, are still going to take place. She wondered if the appointment of Ambassador Frank Carlucci to the position of DDCI and the Directorts remarks that the DDCI would handle most of the day-to-day operations of the Agency would change the decision. to make these cuts. I told her that the reduction in force of the DDO will still take place and that the Director had made a statement on the cuts which makes his position clear on the matter and that I would be happy to forward a copy to her. She thanked me for the assistance. The statement was forwarded this date. 4. (Unclassified - MG) LIAISON Per her request of yesterday, sent via courier to Ramona, in the office of Senator H. John Heinz (R. , Pa.), a copy of two CIA studies on terrorism: "International Terrorism in 1976" and "International and Transnational Terrorism: Diagnosis and Prognosis. " 5.
