1. A number of Agency employees have recently
received unsolicited invitations to subscribe to Soviet Life
Magazine. It is not known at this time whether t r`a h of
mailings, all of which originated in the Soviet Union, is
directed only at Agency employees or includes others of the
general populace." No reports have yet come to our attention
from the Directorate of Operations; however, solicitations
have been received by members of all other Directorates.
2. It is requested that all Area Security Officers be
made aware of this situation and report any cases coming tee
their attention directly to .25x1
Security Analysis Group. Interviews will be conducted with
a limited number of recipients in an effort to determine the------'-
source of?the?referenced mailing list.
