The Director has asked that I send you a copy of his
recent report to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
dealing with steps to be taken to improve the quality of
analytic work in the Intelligence Community. The report
was prepared by the Intelligence Community Staff and
responds to a request contained in the Senate Select
Committee on Intelligence's report on the FY-1978 National
Foreign Intelligence Program budget.. Please note that
specific dollar figures relating to the FY-1979 NFIP budget
have been omitted from the report; pending White House
approval of the budget.
