We are delighted that you can speak to our Seminar on
Intelligence Analysis. To reconfirm, we have scheduled your
talk for Friday, February 17, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. We have
titled it "Soviet Military Doctrine," We hope that you can
present prepared remarks for an hour to an hour and a half.
After a short break, the remaining time will be devoted to a
question and answer session.
For your background information, the course is designed to
improve the capabilities of our analysts by exposing them to new
ideas and sources of information. Al.]. of the people in the class
work on one or more aspects of the Soviet military problem. The
course is keyed to presenting alternative explanations for the
current Soviet military buildup.. This subject was chosen because
all the students are familiar with the problem plus the fact that
there is a plethora of both classified and unclassified sources
of information regarding it. We hope, therefore, that you, can
approach Soviet Military Doctrine as it bears on the Soviet arms
buildup plus mentioning the sources of information that you use.
The class will have fourteen students at the GS-12 to GS-15 level,.
The course will be held in our Chamber of Commerce Building,
Room 1001, 4600 North Fairfax Drive, Arlington, Virginia.
