SUBJECT Fraser Subcommittee Request For Briefing
on North Korean Subversive Activities
1. The attached letter from House International Relations
Subcommittee on. International Organizations Chairman Donald
M. Fraser requests a briefing from the CIA and FBI on North
Korean subversive activities, particularly in South Korea, Japan,
and the U.S.
2. The U.S. portion of this request should, of course, be
handled by the FBI. There are several questions related to the
rest of the request:
A. What level of classification will the briefing
entail?
B. Should Subcommittee staff participation be limited
to the two "designated" staff members in accordance with
the 16 March 1978 Addendum to the Memorandum of Understandin
between the Subcommittee Chairman and the DCI?
C. When can we be prepared to give such a briefing?
D. Do we prefer to give the briefing jointly with
the FBI or separately?
