(Unclassified - THW) LEGISLATION Called Gil Kujovich, in the Department of Defense General Counsel's office, to get DOD's position on the Civil Service Reform Act with respect to veterans pre- ference and other provisions which DOD would not be exempted from even though the exemptions being proposed to the Intelligence Community were to be included in the bill. He said DOD's position was that they were not seeking exemptions from the bill with respect to provisions to which DOD entities were already subject, such as veterans preference and excepted status. 24. (Interna-l Use Only - RJK) BRIEFING NFAC/NIO,STA briefed Pauline Baker and Bill Ashworth, staffers on the House International Relations Committee, on the South Afric-in nuclear program: The briefing lasted about an hour, during which answered all the questions posed Si by Baker and Ashworth.
