21. (Unclassified - THW) LIAISON Montgomery Winkler,
Administrative Assistant to Representative Robert Lagomarsino
(R. , Calif. ), called to request information regarding Turkey.
Since the information was unclassified and was contained in the
National Basic Intelligence Factbook, I provided him with answers
to his questions.
22. (Unclassified - THW) LIAISON Called Bob Dockery,
Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, to tell him that the DCI's
appearance befo. ,2 the full Committee on 9 June was set and suggested
he call Bill Miller, Staff Director, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence,
with respect to the. Committee's request for documentary evidence con-
cerning the allegations of Cuban involvement in the invasion of Zaire.
23. (Unclassified - THW) LEGISLATION Called Gil Kujovich,
in the Department of Defense General Counsel's office, to get DOD's
position on the Civil Service Reform Act with respect to veterans pre-
ference and other provisions which DOD would not be exempted from
even though the exemptions being proposed to the Intelligence Community
were to be included in the bill. He said DOD's position was that they were
not seeking exemptions from the bill with respect to provisions to which
DOD entities were already subject, such as veterans preference and
excepted status.
24. (Interna-l Use Only - RJK) BRIEFING NFAC/NIO,STA
briefed Pauline Baker and Bill Ashworth, staffers on the House International
Relations Committee, on the South Afric-in nuclear program: The briefing
lasted about an hour, during which answered all the questions posed Si
by Baker and Ashworth. They requested a co of any Agency study clone
on th, rican nuclear program. I NFAC/CSS, was STA
advised.
25. (Unclassified - MAO) LIAISON Per his request, I sent to
Thomas R. Smeeton, Minority Staff Consultant, house International
Relations Committee, _a copy of an atlas for Africa and the Western Hemisphere
and also a copy of the National Basic Intelligence Factbook.

Representative Robert K. Dorna.n (R., Calif. ), a copy of an atlas on the
Western Hemisphere.
