LIAISON Received a call from Ed Levine, Senate e ec ommi ee on Intellige ce staff, who requested to meet wit whom he had interviewed before in connection with a case study on intelligence This time Levine would like to speak to him regarding the nomination of Ambassador Frank Carlucci as DDCI. 6. LIAISON Received a call from Hal Ford, Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, who said he had scheduled throe h office, CSS/NFAC, an interview with NFAC, regarding the Frank Snepp charges. Ford aske me interviews with DDO employees Don Gregg and I for next week. 25X1 7. LIAISON Called Stan Taylor, -Senate Select Committee on Intelligence staff, to inform him of Levine's request for an. Agency interview regarding the nomination of Ambassador Frank Carlucci as DDCI and told him in addition I would proceed to set up previously requested interviews with Agency officers I Ion the nomination. 25X1 8? - d John McLaughlin, L all of NFAC, and CI Staff, to a briefing of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence staff. The briefing was one of the regular bi-weekly series of intelligence briefings. Subjects covered today included Soviets' loss of a TU-95 aircraft, the current situation in Ethiopia, Cambodia, and Italy, and a lengthy presentation on Soviet intelligence including the KGB, GRU, and Soviet SIGINT capabilities. Attending from the staff were Thomas K. Latimer, Staff Director, Mike O'Neil, Pat Long, Dick Giza, Jim Bush. and Bernie Raimo. 9. I IAISON Received a call from Carol Cones, in the office of Representative John T. Myers (R. , Ind. ), requesting a brochure- -clerical and professional. OLC Registry was advised.
