1. (Unclassified - NDL) LIAISON Per her earlier request, I
sent a copy of the Agency publication, "The Impact of Fertilizer on
Soviet Crain.. Output, 1960-80," to Suzanne Boiscla.ire,in the Office of
Technology Assessment.
2. (Unclassified - ME) FOIA/LIAISON Received a call from
Ms. Theresa Gentry, in the Knoxville office of Senator Howard Baker (It., Tenn.),
inquiring on behalf of a constituent, I Iwho has 25X1
not heard from the Agency since August concerning her Privacy Act
request. After checking with the Information and Privacy Staff, I
advised Ms. Gentry that so far the Agency has located no information
pertaining t Put that there is one more area to be
checked out and she should be hearing from the Agency shortly. (I
explained to her that the Agency has a tremendous backlog which has
brought about the delay in responding Ms. Gentry 25X1
asked that I call her when the case is completed and I promised I would
do so.
3. (Unclassified - ME) FOIA/LIAISON I called Mr. Joseph Sisk,
in the office of Representative Henry S. Reuss (D., Wisc.), toe lain .the
delay in our responding to a constituent, I uin 25X1
response to the Congressman's letter of 22 February. I explained to
Mr. Sisk the tremendous backlog in our appeal cases and that it would be
at least another two months before the appeal process is completed.
Mr. Sisk advised me that it was only a routine check and I promised I
would call him as soon as a final response has gone out to 25X1
(We had sent a letter to the Congressman on 31 October 1977 stating it
would be a minimum of six months to complete. )
