Thank you for providing me a copy of the Senate Select
Committee on Intelligence study "The Quality and Utility of
U.S. Intelligence concerning China." The study is under
review by the appropriate Intelligence Community components.
As posed in your letter, I have also asked them to consider
whether it is feasible to release a brief, unclassified
version to the public. I will forward our comments to you
when this review is completed.
In line with my previous stands on limiting access to
sensitive studies such as this, I am pleased that this highly
sensitive document will not be distributed widely throughout
the Executive Branch.
