. Middle Arms Study
1. Attached is an opening tranche on your request
for material dealing with the Middle East arms balance.
Of particular interest to you may be the current inter-agency
view on the effect of aircraft sales in the Middle East. I
also am enclosing a study done in 1975 on the Arab-Israeli
War and a copy of the 1975 Arab-Israeli Handbook.
2. We are working on the NIEs and I am going through
an impressive AEGIS run trying to weed out non-relevant items.
Hopefully we can get the rest of this to you this week.
