LIAISON Brenda Wambough, Personal Secretary to Representative William L. Dickinson (R., Ala.), called to indicate that the Congressman was interested in having a question answered that had arisen as a result of his recent trip to Panama. While there, he was told about the threat to Panama as a justification for 9 to 10 thousand U.S. military personnel stationed there. The explanation for the threat was not satisfactorily outlined to him and he wanted the Agency to give him our views on the internal and external threats to 18. LIAISON Thomas K. Latimer, Staff Director, use Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, called and asked that the Agency brief the Committee on the Kampiles case sometime during the week of 11 September 1978. LIAISON Bernard Raimo, /on the staff of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, called and we discussed language that should go into letters from the DCI to Representatives Richard A. Gephardt (D., Mo.) and Dan R. Glickman (D., Kan.) 22. LIAISON Saw Fred Mull, on the staff of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and told him that Tony Lapham, General Counsel, would. be testifying before the House Committee on Government Operations on 19 September on the subject of how illegalities are reported to the Department of Justice.
