13. LIAISON Commander Robert McGee,
Navy Legislative Liaison, ed to say that Russell Hale would
be joining the House Armed Services Committee staff shortly and
was interested in transferring his compartmented clearances
from the Congressional Budget Office, where he is presently
employed, to the Committee. I suggested to McGee that Hale
discuss the matter with Bill Hogan, the Committee's General
Counsel, who would know what steps to take.
14. LIAISON Received a call from
Debbie S einmeyer, Senate Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on
Energy, Nuclear Proliferation and Federal Services staff.
She indicated that Maria Lopez-Otin would be joining the
Subcommittee staff on 16 January 1979. Len Weiss, Subcommittee
Staff Director, was interested in obtaining compartmented
clearances for her. I suggested.to Ms. Steinmeyer that she
send a letter to the Legislative Counsel setting forth the
reasons for the clearances and we would consider it.
