staff, visited Headquarters to review documents.
11. LIAISON Called Howard Liebengood,
in the office of Senate Minority Leader Howard Baker (R., Tenn.),
and explained that I would have a briefer on Nicaragua on the
Hill tomorrow and would have some free time in case Senator Baker
wanted a briefing on recent developments. Liebengood said he
would get back to me tomorrow.

8. BRIEFING Michael Glennon and John
Ritch, Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff, visited Headquarters
for a briefing in connection with the Subcommittee on International
Operations' investigation of foreign intelligence activity in
the U.S. (See Memorandum for the Record.)
9. FOIA/LIAISON Three Congressional
inquiries arrived onl behalf and two of these 25>
were responded to by telephone calls to Ms. Maureen Drury, in the
office of Senator Harry F. Byrd, Jr. (Indep., Va.), and Ms. Valerie
McCormack,. in the office of Representative Joseph L. Fisher (D., Va.).
The third inquiry, discussed with Ms. Dorothy Hope, in the office
of Senator William Scott (R., Va.), brought a request for a
written confirmation of the telephone discussion which is being
sent. The gist of all three calls was that will 25),
be receiving the information he is seeking in one month, give
