The following report covering the participation of ORR in Operation-is herewith submitted in two parts, Part I, Office Support and Part II, Operations of ORR Personnel at Relocation Center: I. Prior to the commencement of the operation the Office ensured that all finished intelligence reports, microfilmed reproductions of the estimates file, and a comprehensive collection of maps were in the files.of the vital records center, In addition, a selection of ORR support papers (mostly contributions to national intelligence estimates) were forwarded to the Center. The Geographic Area, in collaboration with the Graphics Section of 00I, assured the availability of materials and facilities for appropriate presentation. Indexes and lists of all information in ORR's central repositories were prepared, for the refer. ence of the ORR team at the Center. It developed during the exercise that the files of the Projects Control Staff s without a report of the status of NIS production. B. The Office arranged for complete personnel coverage of all divisions and branches during the exercise from 1700 to 0830 (either by on-station presence or stand-by residence duty). A central watch office was established in the M Building and this post was manned by a repre- sentative of the Economic and Geographic Areas and the Projects Control Staff at all times from 1700 to 0830. t The above-mentioned arrangements proved to be entirely satisfactory for timely support to the Relocation Center. C. ORR headquarters received 8 requests from its Team for 10 specific requirements. Eight of these requirements were produced and delivered after normal work hours. COTi Two of the 10 requirements placed upon headquarters could have been satisfied at the Center from documents available at vital records. A request for ground photography of the port of Dairen could have been supplied by NIS 39 Supplement 1 Another request, location and correct spelling of Gedara, was obtained by head- quarters from the NIS Gazetteer (also available at vital records.)
