(S/D) A large tent camp was newly identified one nautical mile northwest of Sabzevaran, Iran (Figure 1), at 44-42-03N 057-43-OOE on imagery of The camp (Figure 2), which was not present on the most recent previous imagery of consisted of 26 large tents, approximately 1,600 small tents, 15 buildings, and 11 buildings under construction. The camp was divided into 15 separate areas. A probable administration area in the center of the camp consisted of eight buildings, one building under construction, 21 large tents, and 101 small tents. Nine of the areas contained most of the remaining small tents. Each of the tent areas was served by a probable latrine building and several areas contained a probable shower building, either com- pleted or under construction. Two graded areas at the east end of the camp and three probable latrine buildings under construction at the west end of the camp indicated that the camp may be expanded. Probable light/power poles had been erected throughout the camp. The camp did not appear to be fully occupied on 2. (S/D) When the area was last observed onl I only three small buildings and three buildings under construction were seen; it appeared then that the area might have been intended for agricultural use. The purpose of the tent camp has not been determined. (S) Comments and queries regarding this report are welcome.
