In response to a verbal request from as stimulated by reference (a). the Military Scientific Branch has made a rapid survey of photo coverage and/or collateral information on the areas mentioned. Initial findings are reported in reference (b). 2. Unless otherwise advised it wilt be assumed that these pre- liminary findings meet your initial requirements. If a more detailed analysis is desired I would suggest that OCI or OSI be designated as the primary responder with HTA to provide such supporting details as might be derived from our photographic holdings. BASED ON GROSS DOLLN AND OTHER-EVIDENCE, CLEAR THAT THESE BASES OF UNPRECEDENTED SIZE, SELF-SUFFICIENCY, AMO HARDNESS. EACH COMPLETE COVERING FUEL STORAGE, STANDS, PERSONNEL QUARTERS, ETC. COVERS AREA SEVEN BY FIVE MILES. Oleniya A/F, Kola Peninsula (68?09'N/ 33?28'E) Single Runway - 11, 500' x 280' Taxiways - Not dimensioned Special Loading Facility - There is a reevetteed hardstand with a probable leading pit. This facility is not like the facilities at Orsha, Minsk or Stryy. . Special-Purpose Buildings - There is a drive-thru building in the support area, with a good road leading into the taxiway system. Not our*, but believe that earth runway will be concreted eventually. 9. Tiksi A/F, Far North (71041' N/128?53E)* 10. Mys Schznidta A/F, Far North (lab?53'N/179o24'E)* 11. Anadyr/Leninka A/F. Far East (64044'.N/177?45'Ey' Runway - 13, 000', no other information, report not immediately available. 12. 1#oarevsk A/F, Kamchatka Peninsula (approx. 56?N/159?E) 25X1 Covered by Construction stage in llappeared preliminary and dormant.
