Approved For Rele02002/08/14: CIA-RDP81T00990R00e0070036-7 PID 26163 11 Feb 1963 25X1A 1.MMOR/1N JM TO: Assistant for Operations, iIPIC FROAM: Chief, CIA/PT )(NPIC) SUBJECT: Procedure for Improvement of Immediate Reporting 1. Some work has been done within this division, with the assistance of the Collateral Support Division, in devising a sy- stem that may be an aid to the photo interpreter in the immedi- ate reporting phase conducted by the Center. This system may be particularly useful for the BttAS3 KNOB IPIR currently being -orc+iueed. The system deviied utilizes the Minicard machinery currently operated by CSD and results in the production of a ref- erence book which the PI can use while scanning the photography and preparing his work sheets. The book consists of a map, photo- grapa; and the latest PT write-up of individual targets. The r p and photograph are used for location, identification and. orientation as compared with the phottx-, image being scanned. The ~1.. to raph and latest write-up sheet are used primarily for com- parison. Comparison and reporting of changes are the most im- x;,taut ingredients of our present BRASS KNOB IPIR' . Accuracy f. f reporting should also be enhanced by having in one package the 1&test photoph and write-up that can be used to check chwn;c:es and insure consistency in reporting. Such a compendium will c.:C course serve other useful urposes such as target reference, CO 2OB .corking group support and quick available reference for inter- ureters dispatched to field readout areas. ;3. It is suggested that the feasibility of using a system as generally outlined above be Investigated. A sample book is avail?ible in this division and fur':her questions on subject can be .irec1 ed to 25X1A Dist. 0. - addressee 1 PID Chrono 25X1 A CIA/PID: (11 Feb 63) Approved For Release 2002/08/14: CIA-RDP81 T00990R000100070036-7
