1. With due respect for the AD/r'R it is my feeling that the

Most. of the requirements submitted to dk/ftD by the Cheaaical.Brtuxch
of the stesources Division were directed to the Industrial I rsuVb of PIP
for analysis. In the past 12 month; period, 9 total of 18 projects were
received. All but 4 have been completed, and one of these has been
partially answered (Requirement No. Pii/323/62); the other 3 have been
in FID/IB less than 3 months.
CIA/PID was instrumental in the identification of and photographic
support to Ft/CH on the chemical plants located at 25X1
(references: CIA/PID/ID-117/62, CIS./PID/IB..94/62 and NPIC FP`iss on
tccl's an .
25X1 The new plants at were also analyzed by
analysts at PII). '.The industrial complex was a national project;
25X1 however, a P ID/IB analyst was assigned to the project (J ?i-63). Various
analysts from ORE were notified of the eoxiplex and they were invited to
IB to review and discuss this complex. At that time the carbide plant was
pointed out to the group, with special e^pha.sis being added to its size..
This is a large facility, capable of producing a surplus for the needs

The vas reported to be under construction in
F4PIC MCI of 0. PID lB does have a requirement from R/CB standing
at this time. It was received in PIP on t? June 1963. `hThis project will
be assigned for work very shortly. Some Relay was necessary in final
completion of these requirements because of the small number of analysts
available for project work, other priorities and lack of material. In the
future, more analysts vill be aavsi3.able for project work; at that time,
with realistic due dates.and priorities, production in quantity without
deteriorating effects on quality will be possible.
