German Commissar General for Special Services in Holland,
died on June 27 while on official business in France; ac-
cording to the Deutsche Zettm, in den Siederlanden, a
Nazi organ in Holland, the mystary of SChmidt's death has
been 'cleared up'; the paper said Schmidt was taken ill
"bile on a train enroute to Paris and retired to his berth
early; during the night, teoling violently ill, he tried to
obtain fresh air and fell from the rapidly-moving train be-
fore his attendants could help him, he died shortly after-
ward of injuries rebuking the outbreak of rumors that the
German officiel had been assassinated, the Nazis insisted
it was 'a fatal accie.enti; among the reports contrary to
the Nazi version was one the Soviet News Agency reported
