Bulgaria has fairly large reserves of oil shale; same of which are
on tihe surface. The best-known area is a few kilometers north of the cit

of Bresnik, where there is a vein of oil shale about 50 meters in ~

between layers of sandstone. The best vein is about seven meters thi
