A retnforoed concrete brt, a~ meters wide

the Kura River in front of the metallurgioal combine. A dam, which
diverts the Kura into a seoond branoh off the western bank of the river,
was built to front of the bridge. In summer, the river often rans
dry, thus preventing operatton of a power plant with 8 turbinev. In
order to ensure this power supply, a reserve Diesel 'power plant vu
erected X00 meters to the south.
Construction was directed by the forcer German Lieutenant Haug.
This informant had the opportunity to see the original blueprints
of the future construction plans of the metallurgical Rombtne. They
indioated that a muoh larger area for additional plant buildings is
planned to the south of the already eomplete1 nnes. The latter area
is located at the eastern bank of the river,
The Gertaan construction engineer Bnsoh prepared the detailed
plans and models according to Soviet instructions. These plans were
accepted almost without alteration and x111 be furthAr expanded.

ning and had become famous as a city planner in German. Today the
Basetans are making use of his experience. Be is not the only German
