In their struggle to fulfill this pledge, the worker s have been constantly increasing their average 'daily construction work in lining the tunnel's walls, thus overfulfilling their production plan. The average daily fulfillment of the Plan, from t he day light construction work was begun to 9 September, has been 215 percent, Fully aware of the enormous economic importance of the railroad line running along the foot of the Balkan mountain, the workers and the technical personnel decided, to work on all holidays and workdays until the tunnel is completed. Responding to the appeal of the Party Committed, the Trade union committees and the Administration, the workers at the tunnel working near t he "Bunovc" opening did not cease their work on 9 September ~- Freedom Day. On this day they realized new construction feats hitherto unheard of in Bulgaria. While the average daily area to be covered with concrete, according to the plan, is 3.60 meters, or 1.20 meters per shift, the "'Stalin'', "Chervenkovrr and "V..' Kolarovrr construction brigades covered 12 meters with concrete on 9 September. The"Stalin" brigade covered 4010 meter ~ s, the ~~,,h ervenkov'r brigade 4.05 meters and the "V. Kolarovtr brigade 385 meters. The daily plan for pouring concrete was fulfilled b 333 erene by P to The comrades operating the machines played and important art in making these results possible, because they saw to it that the co nveyor belts never ,.ceased moving, that the pumps never ceased pumping out the water, and W~'' Dept the cement mixer in constant operation.
