1. mhe Olomouc-None Sally Airfield ~93~+N-1716 ~Enal. A, Point #),
aloo known as Nave Sally, was si uated at an elevation of 249 m.
above sea level, and about ~~ 1uu. southeapt of Olomouo, one to tiro
kilometers east of Nove lady, X00-1,.000 m.,eas'Iw of the Morava River,
and about three quarters of a kilometer west o!' the Prerov~Olomoua
,Railroad. Irregular in shape, it measured 1,200 m. nox?th-south and
55o m. east-west: T presume it oould not be extended because of
Olomouc on the north, a road on the south, the railroad on the east.,
and the Morava River on the west. The surfaoe was grass; there mere
na aprons, taxi strips, perimeter tracks nor hardstands or revetments.
T did not notice a'ny improvement or oenatruation of the surfaoe.
Drainage was natural. Obstruotiona to landing approaches ino;lulled
a.ahimneY, 50 m. high, 800 m. northeast of the airfield; two ohimneys,
~2~m. and 63 m. high, one kilometer northeast: and a ohurch a+teeple,
37 m. high, 700 m. to the west. There was also a chimney, 62 m.
-high, one kilometer Basta a chimney, 62 m. high, two kilometers
southwest; and another, 31 m. high, one kilometer southwest of the
airfield. There was also a churoh steeple and chimney north-~xiorthr~est
. of Olomouc . After heavy rains and spring thaws, runway and a~~rfield ,:..,.
,became slippery and muddy and oould not be used for heavy sirc:raft.~ '
The C9R did not usv the field for 10-15 days yearly due to tha:s
eondition. There were no heavy snowfalls and the field was used the
year round.. I ~ ,not know if the airfield had a weather station.

2. The airfield. was controlled by civilian personnel, (Fnu) SIC was
CSA ch airfield. It was used by both Doslet (Svarzam".Air
50X1 Club 'c and CSR. It was utilized as an auxiliary airfield.
b~ trainees o the Olomouc-Neredin ~+935N-1712~.School for
elementary training. When utilized-for military training,,at in-
frequent intervals, it was contr?lled by military personnel. I do
nct know how many men wcra needed. to operate the airfield, Officers-
and enlisted men wore the regular Czechoslovak blue uniform. Air
Force unif~rrns were worn. by personnel of Olomouc-Neredin when training
at Olomouc-Hove ~Sady Airfield, Armed Air Force guards guarded
military aircraft during military training periods,. I never observed
the airfield after dark and noted no defense installations or
practices other than the guards. I have no information on billeting
facilities.
There was a high frequency radio somewhere on the field for a:lr-
~r+QL1nd c~ommuniGation, oFerat~.n$ ot3 34+2.5 and ~22~ kc, Electricity
was Aupplied From Olomouc. An er~ergenoy generator, eQmewhQre on
the Field., was available in Dees of ,power Failure. Water was also
ett~ppried by Olomar~a. T do not know anything about the Fuel et~,pply,
but S'do know that tho CSA did not Fuel their planes at this uirField.
