(LISTED BELOW) SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT NO. 50X1 50X1 Marianske Lazne Airfield p955N-1243E.7 was located 4 km. SSE of Marianske Lazne city 2749 8N-1242Ej and 800 to 1,000 m. NNW of a large lake (Enclosure A0 Point 4.f. It was 538 m, above mean sea level. The field was grass-covered, sloping toward its northwest corner. There were shallow dips within the landing area and a l m0 drop-off below the runway surface level (Enclosure B, Point EU. There was natural draLnage except for one area [Enclosure B, Point i. The field was not capable of being extended. The main obstructions to flying were hills about 700 m. high on the north and northeast sides of the field and trees at the northwest corner of the field and across the highway [Enclosure Bs Point 1137. The field was open only from May through September, being close the remainder of the year because of heavy snows and other types of bad weather. 2. Electricity, water, and fuel were received from the city of Marianske Lazne. Refueling and maintenance facilities were available for light aircraft only. No Czechoslovak Airlines (CSA) aircraft refueled at this field. The CSA suppliedabus for passengers to and from the city. Employees at the field used bicycles or a regular bus which operated on the main highway ['Enclosure B$ Point 9_7. The airfield personnel consisted of one airfield director from the Ministry of Air Transport (he also acted as ATC director), one CSA weather briefer, and one CSA mechanic. All wore the dark blue CSA uniform0 no military personnel at this airfield. 50X1 ENCLOSURES: A.
