Living conditions in postwar Poland were best during 1945, 19W#:
and 1947. During those years food and clothing were plentiful
and relatively cheap. In 1948 and early 1949 one began to notice
some deterioration of the market. It was not until late 1949s
when ration cards were introduced, that the situation with
respect to availability of consumer goods became very bad. Food
and clothing were becoming scarce; prices began ;to skyrocket.
Today, with the state in control of practically all business
and enterprise, the situation is intolerable.
