This cable, a high frequency direct line, could carry six to eight conversations simultaneously, and was to be used in wartime only. The cable was laid, and crossed the border,-under'barbed wire obstacles, plowed earth strips and electric detection devices used to protect the Polish - USSR border. 25X1 the 25X1, ent on the USSR side of the border when the lines were connected.
