All the oil refineries in Czechoslovakia were grouped into two national enterprises. One, the Czechoslovak Mineral Oil Refineries (Cal. rafinerie mineralnich oleju) in Prague II which included the ? refineries located in Bohemia and Moravia; namely, Hodonin 5 48-52, (with E 17-17? Kolin 5 50-02, E 15-l7, a branch plant in Prague- Strasn ce),Kralupy nad Vltavou 50-14, E 14-117, Ostrava-Privoz, and Pardubice. The other, the Slovak Oil Refineries in Bratislava which included the refinery in Bratislava and the one in Duba 5 50-31, E 14-317. 2. All of these refineries were old and well-known enterprises. All of them, except the plants at Duba and Hodonin, were damaged by bombs during World War II. After the war, the damaged plants were repaired and were returned to production at their pre-war capacity. Security measures for the refineries were the same as for chemical installations. 3. The Duba and Hodonin plants processed domestic materials only. The Hodonin factory was important because research and pilot processing of domestic natural gases were performed there. The gases originated In the Malaoky 5 48-26, E 17-01:7 area and we piped to the Hodonin plant. Al]. oil refineries had their own steam boilers and were joined to the main railway lines by spur tracks. The refinery in Bratislava used the Danube River to ship raw materials and finished products. All other plants had rail facilities only. 5. Chemapol annually imported the following materials for processing in these refineries: 210,000 tn. of crude petroleum, two-thirds of which came from Austria and one-third from Venezuela and Kuwait. 85,000 tn of petroleum distillate from Austria. 35,000 tn. of raw gasoline from Austria. 7,700 tn. of oil lubricants, about two-thirds of which came from Area V countries and the remainder from Areas VI and VII. 16 As shown by the above figures, the main supplier of raw petroleum was the Soviet Zone of Austria, i.e., the Sowletische Ninera181- Verwaltung in Vienna. Shipments passed through Zistersdorf in monthly shipments of about 45,000 tn. Distribution of finished products inside Czechoslovakia was handled by Benzinol, National Enterprise, in Prague, with distribution for Slovakia being handled by the Benzinol Bratislava management. In addition to motor fuels and lubricants, these refineries produced ceresine, paraffin and ozokerite. These products were shipped in burlap bags for further processing in the paper, electrotechnical, and' candle-making industries and for the preduction'of preservatives, impregnation agents, cosmetics and polishing agents. Further, crude paraffin was shipped in drums and was used mostly in the production of technical lubricants; petroleum asphalt, which was shipped in railway tank cars or metal drums, was used in road construction, in the production of tar-paper roofing material, paints and lacquers, in iron factories and rubber plants, in the electrotechhical and paper industries, and in the production of lubricants. Finally, the refineries produced a number of materials used in the production of textiles, which were known under the names given below: Stoko Grease Stokb bacovaci Oil Stoke avivaz (Finishing Agent) Lojaian Stokasan 47, Stokocit N Stoko Oil EM Stoko Glycerine S Stoko Polishing Agent Stoko Tablets, Stoko Brilliant Oil Dispergin T Stokoprolan RL Stokopolin V Stokopol extra Stokopol Paste Stokepoll FF Stokolix Stoko LE Stokomat Stoko mercerit E Stoko Filter Stoko Impregnant SECRET narinQcifipn in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release @ 50-Yr 2013/06/24: CIA-RDP82-00046R000400120005-9 Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release @ 50-Yr 2013/06/24: CIA-RDP82-00046R000400120005-9 SECRET 50X1 - 3 - Stoko Calendering Oil Stoko emulgator M Obor P30 Stoko Printing Oil Stoko Wetting Agent Stoko Loom Oil Paraoit Antipenit Syntbalgon Sypthron A SYnthron B ?
