All dimensions and distances are approximate unless otherwise stated. (For gen- eral locations see page 11; for details of airfield and surround- ing areas see Enclosure.) 1. Jet Aircraft Firing Range; dirt built up area, 80-100 meters long., 20 meters wide. There was a concrete apron on front of firing range. on many occasions MIC-15 aircraft at this firing rangeb These a s- era t were either towed or taxied to the firing range. firing in the following manner: There were about six or a ght short blasts with about a two-second pause between rounds, then three-min- use before firing would start again. this was not machinegun fire. The blasts of this firing, could be heard about two kilometers from firing range. Entrance Concrete Wall, 3 j to 4 meters high, 20 meters long, 16 centimeters thick. The tour of guards duty was 24 hours.., beginning at 1900. They worked 2 on and 4 off. Building, use unknown. White painted brick, 12 x 6 x 1.2 meters, with shed-type roof, having small barred windows. One guard was observed patrolling around building armed with a PM WZ: 4i type weapon, using 7.62 ammunition,, 35 rounds. to a magazine, carried reserve of 2 magazines. Unknown Construction im x im x in 40 centimeters, with round glass dome. this construction contained the 25X1 runway light switches. 10. Lights, 6 indicated on sketch, but there were more; exact number unknown. Lights were red, green and amber in color, and believed to be landing approach lights. Dependent Housing Area. This area, consisting of approximately 10 houses, housed Polish Air Force officers and their depend- ents. These homes were formerly privately owned. 45. Dependent Housing Area. There were about 20 homes in this area. Polish Air Force officers and their dependents. 46. Dependent Housing Building, 3-story, brick, 60 meters x 20 meters, with red tile gabled roof. Building housed officers and their dependents. 47. Dependent Housing Building - same description an Pt. 46. This building also contained an Air Force Canteen. In the area of Pts. 46 and 47, there were one or two additional buildings of the same type. Central Heating Plant, red brick 80 meters x 40 meters x'20 meters with flat type roof. The chimney on this building was 25 to 30 meters high with red obstruction lights at the top. There was a large coal pile on the east side of thi@ building. The plant furnished heat for buildings, Pt. 52 to 66 inclusive.
