THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
New uranium mined were opened in the vicinity oP the village Qt`
Bernartiae (N 5?-39, R 15-58). (~'or approximate location, see
map mverlay on page 2.) Drilling operations were started in the
spring of 195 and the actual digging was begun in the autumn of
195. It ,lea planned to have- the mines in t'ull-saale~~?peratiot~
sometime in 1955. About 400 people were employeQ there in April
1953 most oP them Dame From Dvur Kralove (N 50-26, E 15-4g)
daily by bus. Intensive recruitment off' laborers was under way
in April 1955? Recruitment wa? aentralilaed at the nvur Kralove
labor ot~'iQe.
